DR. MARTIN ESTER

I love my research in the area of machine learning with a focus on biomedical applications.

I love teaching students, helping them with their professional and personal development.

The extra-curricular work with God and Reason has added  even more meaning to my job as a professor.

Dr. Ester's research focuses on data mining and machine learning. As a result of his research, Ester was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 2019.

Dr. Ester helped establish God & Reason at SFU in 2011, driven by a desire to create a space where students could hear that faith and rigorous academic thinking are not in conflict.
